The slider to the right of the wheel controls the brightness of that range. The puck in the center of each wheel is a hue offset control to push hues in the direction that you move the puck. The FCPX Color Wheels panel includes four wheels – Master, Shadows, Midtones, and Highlights. But those arguments fall flat when you actually try to use the tools as intended.
